Obituary:
Richard M. "Dick" DeLozier (72) of Wapato passed away at his home on Friday March 5, 2010. he was born in Deep Water, MO on January 30, 1938 to Rufus and Maxine (Whitlock) DeLozier. His family moved to the Yakima Valley in 1942 and he graduated from Wapato High School in 1957. he worked as a surveyor for Yakima County Roads Dept. for 32 years retiring in 1991. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, raising chickens, wood carving, cooking, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the National Judo Association, county employee's union, member of the Union Gap Baptist Church and was currently attending the Terrace Heights Baptist Church. Dick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn DeLozier of Wapato; one daughter, Eleanor (Edward) Garza of Wapato; two sons, Jim LeLozier of Wapato and Rich (Chrystal) DeLozier of Yakima; ten grandchildren, Kari, Jimmy "bucky" and Hunter DeLozier, Christian and Chase Warren, Gabe, Jason Eddy, Angel and Victoria Garza; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Jessalyn Garza; one brother, Glen (Elaine) DeLozier of Richland, one sister, Sue DeLozier Dossey of Eugene, OR; three aunts, Rita Nesbit of Portland, Amanda Palmer and Esther Whitlock both of Yakima. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, one uncle, Merle Whitlock and one niece, Barbara Irwin. Visitation will be held on Tuesday (today) from 12-6PM at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be on Wednesday March 10, 2010 at 2PM at Reservation Community Memorial Park west of Wapato. Friends may send condolences at www.toppenishfunerals.com.
